When compiling its annual list, Niche considers a variety of data, including composite ACT/SAT scores, college enrollment rates, student/teacher ratio, culture and diversity, and feedback from parents and students.

CIS Middle and Upper School Director Jason Bricker cites the relationship built between CIS’ dedicated teachers, supportive parents and growth-focused students as a key factor in the success of the school’s upper school program. “100% of our students are accepted to four-year colleges. Our average ACT over the past five years is nearly 30. Last year’s graduates averaged $375,000 in scholarships. Those phenomenal outcomes are a result of years of hard work put forth by our teachers, parents and students,” Bricker says. “Our graduates are prepared for adulthood in a very unique way, and we’re proud to be recognized among some of the best private schools in the state.”

Columbia Independent School is a coeducational, nonsectarian, college preparatory school, serving 372 students in junior kindergarten through 12th grade.
